Are you ready to experience the story of history on the shores of Antalya?

If you haven't read the story of a king who made such a history for a long time, we can say that you still have a chance to read it. Let's read it.

One day, a king orders him to find a place like heaven on earth. And they find it too… That king is Attalos, King of Pergamon, and the settlement is Antalya. It is not surprising that Antalya, which has hosted different civilizations for thousands of years on its lands, hid them in its mountains, and gave them the opportunity to live and develop, has so many historical structures. Although it is not possible to explore Antalya, where history speaks to us in every corner with its ancient cities, put these historical places at the top of your list of places to visit and start your journey.

Olympos Ancient City

The city of Olympos, which was founded in the Hellenistic Period, offers us the distant and magnificent traces of history with its thousands of years old ruins. In Olympos, located in the region where the cool water of Olympos Stream and the Mediterranean meet, you will see the remains of a Roman theater, a Byzantine basilica and a bath. Olympos, which was a very frequent port city in the 14th century, is also one of the points of special importance for Christianity. So much so that there are only 12 Byzantine churches here.

 Yanartaş (Khimaira) Cirali

If you have come to Olympos, it would not be possible to leave without seeing Yanartaş. Just as the name suggests, this is an ancient region, which is famous for its fire coming out of the stones. Yanartaş, which is very close to the charming Çıralı Village next to Olympos, is actually the source of its fire from the natural gas leaking from the underground, but according to mythology, it is the unquenchable fire of the dragon.

Aspendos Ancient City

Aspendos, once the famous city of Pamphylia, was an important port city and the center of trade in those days. The city is divided into two regions: Upper Town and Lower Town. In the Upper Town, you can visit the basilica, the exedra and the agora, which is the meeting place of the people. In the Lower City, you will see baths, aqueducts, stadiums, various temples and necropolises. Its magnificent theater, on the other hand, has managed to preserve its former beauty for thousands of years.

Selge Ancient City

Selge is an ancient city spread over a very large area in the village of Zerk. Another factor that accompanies the pleasure of opening the doors of ancient times in historical ruins is that thousands of years old water sources are still flowing in the same way. The theater is among its most impressive structures.

 Ancient City of Simena

The ancient city of Simena is one of the places that has managed to survive thousands of years ago. The castle of Simena, which welcomes many visitors especially in the summer months, is one of its most important structures. Apart from this, there are structures worth seeing with its tombs, temple and theater.

 Alara

Located on the Antalya-Alanya Highway, Alara had a very important place during the Seljuk period. Alara Han, which was built with solid stones in 1231 by the order of Alaaddin Keykubat I, still maintains the strong structure of its old days. A little ahead of Alara Han, you will see a castle built on a tea bed. You can reach this castle, which was built by Alaaddin Keykubat I, just one year after the inn, and located on the Silk Road, by walking from the road by the Alara Stream.
